The treatment of this pathology is multidisciplinary: urologists, gynecologists, proctólogos, rehabilitation, physiotherapists and nurses have a more or less prominent role in the comprehensive care of the patient.
This line has been the involvement of Dr. Arlandis who stresses that the nursing professional has acquired in recent years a role protagonist in the treatment of incontinence urinary, given the proximity and the close bond that is established with the patient and his family.
The growing development of the functional Urology as subspecialty, the development of nursing itself and users of health care demands increase makes necessary the creation of specific consultations of nursing in incontinence, and the objective of these courses is to train professionals specifically. “There is growing evidence of the improvement of the quality of care with the development of specific multidisciplinary units, in which the nursing plays a key role,” concludes Dr. Arlandis.
