Psoriasis action organizes an information day on psoriasis in Santa Cruz de Tenerife with the collaboration of the official College of pharmacists
-psoriasis is not contagious chronic autoimmune and inflammatory disease which produces showy lesions on the surface of the skin. It is estimated that you affect 1.4 per cent of the Spanish population, i.e., to 30,000 people in the Canary Islands and 14,500 in Santa Cruz de Tenerife

Santa Cruz de Tenerife, 2011-September action Psoriasis, Association of people with psoriasis and their families, organized with the collaboration of the College official of pharmacists (COF) of Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Abbotta briefing on the disease. The meeting will take place on October 5, at the headquarters of the COF of Santa Cruz de Tenerife (25 de Julio Avenue, no. 24).
The meeting will be screened the documentary in foreground, in which seven patients of psoriasis from different parts of the Spanish geography have firsthand how has impacted them the disease in his life and how have overcome the obstacles that have prevented them from living normally. After the screening, there will be a symposium where attendees can share their concerns with the DRA. Marta GarcÃa Bustinduy, Hospital Universitario de Canarias dermatologist, and Chano Santana, patient and delegate action Psoriasis in the Canary Islands.
Many people with psoriasis has the feeling of being isolated and, indeed, is not. There is still much ignorance about the disease. These workshops are a good opportunity for those affected, not only at the informational level, but also to speak openly about a disease that often we find it hard to explain to others ”, says Chano Santana.
Psoriasis is not contagious chronic autoimmune and inflammatory disease of the skin. The lesions that produce are red and bulging and are covered with whitish flakes off easily. The disease affects each person differently. For some it is a mere annoyance, but for others it has a negative impact on all aspects of their daily lives coming to condition them serious emotional, social and labour.
It is estimated that psoriasis affects 1.4% of the population. This represents approximately 14,500 people in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, 30,000 in the Canary Islands and 650,000 in Spain.
