San Juan de Dios celebrates the Jornadas physiotherapy III dedicated to the sports specialty.
the Conference will take place on 1 and 2 March in the center of San Juan de Dios of Ciempozuelos and registration is free.

Physiotherapy in sports is the title that accompanies the III Conference of physical therapy San Juan de Dios held on 1 and 2 March in the school of nursing and physiotherapy possessing the hospitaller order in Ciempozuelos and consists in the Pontifical University of Comillas.
The activity will begin at 0900 hours on Thursday, March 1, in charge of the Superior of the Centro San Juan of Dios in Ciempozuelos, brother Miguel MartÃn Calderón; the Manager of the Center, Alvaro Rivera; and the Director of the school, Rosa Mª Fernánez Ayuso.
The Conference, whose registration is free in www.upcomillas.es/fisioterapia, are composed of five round tables, which will address various issues related to physical therapy and sports.
On the first day will hear talk about the specialties in physical therapy, with the presence of José Antonio MartÃn Urrialde, President of the General Council of College of physiotherapy of Spain. also will address aspects such as shockwaves in the sporting activity in physiotherapy; the contributions of sports physical therapy Musculoskeletal Ultrasound; the autoestiramiento as a measure to prevent injury, the use of the pilates as a method of preventing injuries in unilateral sports and the Gyrotonic system of physical training and its use in the therapeutic field.
At the third table will be to analyze the why a master’s degree in sport when it ends the degree?. Thereon, the presentation specified that currently, physical therapy available specialties regladas within the competence of the qualification, but increasingly, the professionals seek most deepen the specific knowledge of the area in which they work, which leads to the universities to submit master programmes that attempt to collect these demands. In addition, professional associations, universities, the Association of physiotherapists have commissions of follow-up and/or areas of knowledge that are collecting professionals that relate to a specific theme, in this case sport, but there are a large number of them (respiratory, neurological, gynecological ….)
The day of March 2 Friday will discuss on sports physical therapy in the field of the development of the profession in the workplace, for what will be with Luis Fernando González, medical director of the Spanish Institute of health in sport; the approach of the ischemic chronic compressive injury in the high performance athlete; new technologies applied to the study of biomechanical of the March led by Victor Alfaro, responsible for the service of podiatry and biomechanics Sanitas-Real Madrid; the therapy activates against the pain of espalada and the neuromuscular electrical stimulation applied to sport.
They are rapporteurs present of great relevance of the Universidad CEU San Pablo in Madrid, of the Universidad Europea de Madrid, Universidad CEU Cardinal Herrera of Valencia, of the International University of Catalonia, the University Rey Juan Carlos in Madrid, among other institutions.
These meetings will take place in the Auditorium of the Centre San Juan of Dios in Ciempozuelos (AV. San Juan de Dios 1).
