Sanitat credited the General de Castelló as University Hospital.

-The Center consolidates thus his teaching experience after 43 years of training doctors

– 85 students in internships in 38 specialties will host

Castellón, January 2013.- the General Hospital of Castello has obtained the General direction of evaluation, quality and attention to the patient of the Conselleria de Sanitat accreditation as a university hospital. The conseller de Sanitat, Manuel Llombart, yesterday delivered the certificate to the Manager of the Department of Salut de Castelló, Francisco Pérez.

The General University Hospital of Castello becomes the second hospital in the province with this accreditation. With the University degree you will be enabled to accommodate students that are studying the careers of degree of medicine from various universities that are in the city of Castellón, the Universitat Jaume I and CEU-Cardenal Herrera.

For the owner of Sanitat this means an important seal of quality that accredits teaching work at the Center, promotes teaching, motivates professionals, increases the prestige of the hospital and encourages research ”.

In the opinion of Llombart this new University Center demonstrates the commitment of the Ministry by training and preparation of quality, allowing students to contact in what will be their daily when they end their training ”.

Together with the College of nursing our Lady of the sacred heart, the Hospital has housed doctors who were formed in various specialties and to nursing students who were enrolled their practices.

so far, each year the health centre and the Department health centers hosting near 100 facultative training specialists. From now on, when the grades of medical and nursing students begin to make their practices in the hospital centre of reference in Castellón, will spend more than 200 throughout the year.

To do so, about 75 health professionals will be responsible for authorizing the evolution of these students at its university education, together with the teachers of the UJI.

Thus, 580 beds of the Castellón General join this educational offering and 38 specialties. The General is also equipped to carry out this university teaching and that it has 16 classrooms, 3 events rooms, 5 meeting rooms, 2 libraries and changing rooms with capacity of 765 people.

Reference Center

Castello’s General University Hospital is the main hospital in the province of Castellón, being reference to the hospitals of La Plana and Vinaròs. Additionally, is also for the Comunitat in units like the hyperbaric therapy unit.

In fact, direct population that attends ascends up to the nearly 300,000 people, with its 2,800 employees, that something more than 2,000 do so at the health centre.

11 University in the region of hospitals

In the region are 11 university hospitals: 2 in Castellón (La Plana and General de Castellón) 5 in Valencia (clinical, La Fe, Valencia’s General, Doctor Peset, La Ribera), and 4 in Alicante (San Juan, General of Alicante, Elche and Elda). Currently in proceedings 3: Provincial de Castellón, Vinaròs and La Magdalena.
