SATSE, Alejandro Laguna, Secretary-General has called for the development and implementation, gradual and flexible, skilled nursing, which would lead to “a significant improvement in the working conditions of professionals and in the care and services provided by the national system of health (SNS)”.
During the II national meeting of EIR of nursing family and community, organized by the Federation of associations of community nursing and primary care (FAECAP), Laguna recalled that the development of skilled nursing SATSE is “a historic demand” and would be “a decisive step” for the assessment of the work of nurses and its economic recognition.
Said specialized care to increase patient safety and improve the relationship with the user. They also understand that specialization will succeed in maintaining the unity of the nurse profession; a greater projection of labour and a new role, more autonomous, to these professionals.
Requests that its implatación is developed creating a period of flexible transience that facilitates the creation and categorization of the squares as nurse specialists and allows access and mobility among specialties.
The Royal Decree 450/2005 of 22 April is the current rules which regulate the title of nurse specialist. The text updates the list of Nursing Specialties and establishes that they are seven: Obstétrico-ginecológica Mental health, work, geriatric, Pediatric, family and community and surgical.
