The unemployment rate rose six tenths with respect to the second quarter of the year, until in 21,52 per cent of the active population. The number of unemployed in Spain already nearly five million unemployed to reach the 4.978.300.
Offices of pharmacy industry is no stranger to this trend, and thus the demand for labour in the madrilenian pharmacy has skyrocketed in the last month. According to the employment agency that manages the official College of pharmacists of Madrid (COFM), the number of people registered reached 740 as of October 3. They are 242 professionals than in September. These figures contrast with the registered just two years ago, in which the pharmaceutical sector guaranteed full employment of pharmacy professionals.
The total number of job seekers, 313 request work as pharmaceutical, 125 do as auxiliary, while 149 aspires to a post as a technician and 153 corresponds to pharmacy students.
For the President of the COFM, Alberto GarcÃa Romero, the data reflect the great difficulty Madrid pharmacy not as to create employment, as it has done in recent years, but to keep existing jobs as a result of the three cuts suffered by the sector in less than two years and who will be joining the twenty measures embedded in the last dthrough ”.
The network of pharmacies in the community of Madrid is composed of 2,800 offices of Pharmacy and 13,000 professionals that 7.650 are licensed. Each pharmacy Office employs 2.7 pharmacists.
The employment situation in the sector has been deteriorated in the past two months, in July it there was just registered 448 people in job COFM puts at the disposal of the professionals.
Another of the consequences of the crisis and control pharmaceutical spending measures is the temporary increase, when the use of offices of pharmacy sector has been characterized by its stability and high qualification.
This trend of job losses can be worsen in the coming months ”, according to Alberto GarcÃa Romero, because many pharmacists are at the limit of profitability and barely can maintain his Office pharmacy, so many have been forced to make cuts of template ”regrets the Chairman of the COFM.
