Start the cardio breakfast for schoolchildren in Ãlava.
-Antonio López of Guereñu (January 10) and Araia (January 12) colleges are centers that host the start of this campaign in Alava
-Organized by the Association Bihotz Bizi Corazón-Vivo and the Basque Federation of bakers, the cardio breakfasts for schools campaign reach 546 children and 14 Alava colleges throughout the present school year
Spain, January 2012.- half a hundred schoolchildren from downtown Antonio López Guereñu of Vitoria – Gasteiz participated Tuesday in the first of the cardio breakfast for schoolchildren in Alava that, over the current school year, 14 schools to reach and with the participation of 546 Alava children.
The initiative, organized by the Association for information and Prevention Cardiovascular BIHOTZ BIZI-heart live, along with the Basque Federation of bakers, will continue today in Araia.
The activity consists, first, to offer students an informative talk about the importance of a good breakfast heart and fundamental ingredients. Once exposed the explanation, will proceed to take consistent breakfast in: fruit, milk, bread, oil and pavo-embutido.
According to the study prepared by the Association Bihotz Bizi-heart live in collaboration with the Faculty of pharmacy of the UPV from the polls in the last edition, half of all school age children do not consume fruit or derived from milk at breakfast, and only 30% properly combine the ingredients of a good heart breakfast: milk, bread, fruit, oil and sausage. In addition, the time spend to breakfast is scarce: 60% employ fewer than 10 minutes.
Faced with this reality, the Bihotz-Bizi Association is justified to continue to work towards bringing the message to the students of the importance of a good breakfast.
This 12th Edition will reach 98 centers of the Basque Autonomous Community and 4345 School of free, universal and bilingual form as has been doing for 12 years through the disinterested collaboration of entities such as: the Basque Federation of bakers, Eroski, Auzo LagunPoliclÃnica Gipuzkoa, the Council Basque of pharmacists, the University of the Basque country (EHU/UPV) and the city of San Sebastian.
