studies in Norway show that teenagers aged 16 to 19 are likely to have disrupted sleep, this is due to the use of new technologies. These studies were performed to over 10,000 teenagers, this survey resulted in the use of these new technological equipment presents lack of sleep among adolescents and this leads to a bad habit of sleep.

Study

Mary Hysing, co-author of the study and a psychologist in the Uni Research Health of Norway said in a NBC News the following:

There are indications that the teenager of today sleeps less than previous generations .

There are aspects of electronic devices that can give an additional excitation. The display light can give the sleep hormone production, and also the appearance of social communication .

These studies gave a guideline to give the National Sleep Foundation (National Sleep Foundation), in United States recommendations of sleeping hours, indicating that young people aged between 16 and 19 years need between eight and ten hours of sleep every night, but, according to studies conducted in Norway, show that currently adolescents sleep approximately five hours a day at night.

In conclusion, psychologist Mary Hysing commented as follows:

Could not conclude what time during the day is more damaging to sleep, but it seems that the cumulative amount is during the day what is important ”.

Because of this study, many organizations because they are promoting the moderate use of technology, to help the youth to not generate technological addictions and that, therefore, they can sleep properly.
