Success in the “mobile phones campaign” as collected by fraternity Muprespa in support of the AEPM.
the mutual Muprespa fraternity has collected 881 mobile phones for the solidarity campaign of support to the Spanish Association of pathologies mitochondrial (AEPM). This initiative began on 13 September and ended at the beginning of December.
Spain, January of 2013. The purpose of this campaign was to collect funds for research on new drugs that improve the quality of life for people affected by mitochondrial diseases. A disease that affects ever closer to the adult population but they are still children affected principals.
Mitochondrial diseases are disorders arising due to the deficiency of one or more proteins localized in the mitochondrion and involved in metabolism; its origin can be found by mutations in mitochondrial DNA or by mutations in nuclear genes encoding proteins involved in the proper functioning of the mitochondria. Depending on the affected cells, symptoms can generate: loss of motor control, muscle weakness, pain, gastrointestinal disorders, difficulty in swallowing, retardation in growth, heart disease, liver disease, diabetes, respiratory complications, crisis, Visual and auditory problems, lactic acidosis, delays in development, susceptibility to infectionfertility problems and hormonal problems.
fraternidad Muprespa has managed to collect for this purpose 881 terminals; a campaign that has enjoyed great acceptance and involving employees and mutual.
Department of Corporate Social responsibility has been commissioned to organize and manage that campaign.
