Madrid, September of 2011. The average period collection which had the private centres with the autonomous communities to 12 31, 2010 according to a study by the National Federation of clinics in 75 Spanish private hospitals was 160 days. In the same way the FNCP points out that this average collection period has worsened in 2011 in a substantial way.
Communities with a greater average of surveyed hospitals payment period were Extremadura with a 292 days of delay, with 271 days Madrid, Valencia, with 267 days and Castilla La Mancha with 263 days. On the other hand the autonomous communities with a better average collection period were Basque country with 53 days, Cantabria 83 days and Catalonia with 93 days.
Given that the turnover of the hospital sector private administrations was 1570 million euros in the year 2010 is estimated the debt at 31 December had the autonomous communities with private hospitals amounted to 688 million euros.
The employers regretted the serious non-compliance taking the greater part of the autonomous communities and urges Governments to take appropriate measures to resolve such a situation that this delay in payment by the Administration is causing serious tensions of Treasury to hospitals which puts at risk the economic viability of certain health centres.
The National Federation of private clinics is the patron of the hospital sector from the year 1977 and encompasses most of hospitals deprived of Spanish territory.
