Working Group in vaccinations of the Organization College of nursing of the Valencian Community supports the positioning of the AEV, the ASP and the SEMPSP.
Valencia, March of 2013. The Working Group on immunization of the Board of nursing of the Comunitat Valenciana (CECOVA), to the imminence of the approval next March 21 of the proposed schedule of the Ministry of health, social services and equality by the Interterritorial Council of the national system of health (SNS) vaccine, said his deep discomfort and unease before the changes introduced in this proposal for a single vaccine calendar and It expressed its full support for the position of the Spanish Association of vaccinology (AEV), the Spanish Association of Pediatrics (AEP) and the Spanish society of preventive medicine, public health and hygiene (SEMPSP).
In line with the positioning of the above-mentioned scientific societies, the Coordinator of the Working Group in the CECOVA, José Antonio Forcada, vaccinations considered very successful the statements of the President of the AEV, José MarÃa Bayas, in the sense that is desirable that this kind of actions continue not taking place, that cause enormous damage health, at the same time generated confusion in population and health workers themselves, which contributes to deteriorate the social image of vaccination programs ” and, in the same way, also rejected the possibility that vaccines available or which will be coming soon, to become hospital use because no vaccine should be of hospital use ”.
Vaccine minimum calendar
In addition, José Antonio Forcada explained that the ministerial proposal is a vaccine schedule of minimum in which, by way of example, the chickenpox vaccine becomes administered at age 12, age that already have occurred in 90 percent of cases of this disease ”. In fact, Forcada, the AEP sets, in the vaccine schedule proposed for this year, it recalled the recommendation of the vaccine for chickenpox between 12 and 15 months child.
Similarly, the CECOVA, in line with the positioning of the three scientific societies mentioned above, considered that the urgent need to implement a calendar in all the autonomous communities may not cause a deterioration, or kick in some vaccine strategies that exist in several regionsHow to administer the vaccine against human papillomavirus (HPV) virus at age 14 in those communities which make it at 11-13 years old, or move to vaccinate against hepatitis B at birth, 2 and 6 months (0, 2, 6) ”.
Finally, the Working Group on immunization of the CECOVA, as well as the scientific societies mentioned above, said that the proposal of single vaccine schedule of the Ministry of health it contradicts and invalidates ” the document evaluation criteria to substantiate changes in the vaccination program in Spain approved by the Interterritorial Council of the NHS on February 29, 2012, which, as recalled, contemplates the possibility of vaccination in an interval of age rather than at a specific age, allowing you to maintain the current recommendations, and avoid creating unnecessary problems ”. This proposed calendar is also contrary to the recommendations made by the presentation of programs and register for vaccinations of the Ministry ”.
