The community encouraged to donate its Christmas campaign, which hopes to achieve 10,000 donations.

, Madrid, December of 2011- the Ministry of health has begun last Friday 16 at the mobile unit of donation of the Puerta del Sol to their campaign of blood donation, Christmas, which will extend until January 9, and that hopes to achieve 10,000 donations. The community will bring closer the possibility of donating to 65 cities through mobile units, and the campaign will feature two special events: the opening of the Sun unit of continuously for seven days and a day of doors open in the center of transfusion, at Valdebernardo.

The motto of this Christmas campaign is ‘ share your experience ’, for those who are already donors tell their experience to those who are not, and they encourage you to be part of the donor community.

The Vice-Counsellor of management and infrastructure, Bethlehem Prado, who accompanied the Centre for transfusion professionals on the first day of the campaign, recalled that in the Christmas there is a decrease in the number of donations out of their homes the regular donors. ‘ The mobile units joined in this campaign, said Prado, will be located in areas of increased trafficking in persons in the Christmas period, as shopping areas, tourist attractions and, of course, municipalities that receive additional visitors at Christmas ” this Christmas campaign aims to encourage all the people of Madrid and those who visit our community to devote half an hour to make a blood donation that could save three lives.

The center of transfusion of Madrid planned visit 65 locations in the community, as well as Madrid and her I Crown with metropolitan, represents it more than 200 points of donation throughout the campaign. The times and situation of the units are available here.

Part of this campaign, the Centre for transfusion strengthens its work in the Puerta del Sol in the final stretch of the year; from 26 to 31 December, the mobile unit is available seven days a week to assist anyone who wants to get closer to perform ‘ last year donation ’. The Center has these days with the collaboration of Apresa (Preciados Merchants Association), El Corte Ingles of Preciados and McDonalds, that they will facilitate ticket redeemable for refreshments to donors who come to the mobile unit.

Open day

Almost at the end of the campaign, on Sunday, January 8, transfusion Center will open to the public so that all those who want to get closer to donate to visit the facilities and learn about the process of blood doing a small tour, at the time shared with the traditional Roscón of Kings Center professionals.

Until November 30, the Centre for transfusion has processed 170.757 donations, both learned in Madrid by the Centre public hospitals, an increase of 1.71% 167.893 donations for the year 2010.

To donate blood you must not meet special requirements, only to be willing to donate. Any person with a normal health, over 18 years of age and under 65 can donate if it weighs more than 50 kg. To donate the citizens can go to the nearest public hospital, transfusion Center, located at Valdebernardo, or mobile units. There are points of donation in operation 365 days a year.
