Barcelona, July 2012.- under the framework of the preparation of the 8th National Congress of nursing of the defence, the nursing direction of the Hospital de la Santa Creu and Sant Pau and the President of the Organizing Committee of this Congress, organized on June 20, a discussion board, with the title: sharing visions: nursing Civil and defence in the face of a disaster ”.
This scientific conference represents an activity prior to the 8th National Congress of nursing of the defence, in order to strengthen relationships and to exchange experiences between civilian and military nurses. The held table discussion which was held at the Hospital de la Santa Creu and Sant Pau in Barcelona was moderated by the Director of nursing at this hospital, Margarita Esteve.

The Bureau also involved Susana MartÃnez Ros, the Directorate of special services of the SEM DUI; Manuel Tomás Gimeno, firefighter nurse, responsible for the cooperation of the official College of nursing in Barcelona Area; Carmen Zaldivar Sancho, Assistant Director of nursing of the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau. Barcelona; Antonia Coll Chamber, responsible for the Correctional Services prison nursing and rehabilitation of Catalonia and Josep Giménez Paris, responsible for development of services funeral in Barcelona of the Memora group.
During the course of the debate were presented different views and approaches of the different types of disasters, both nationally and internationally. After the dialogue generated at the table, found that the coordination of skills, experience and training of each of these professionals is the key to success for a proper care in situations of disaster.
The day ended with the presentation of the 8th National Congress of nursing of the defence, in charge of the Lieutenant Colonel Baldomero de la Cruz and the captain nurse Frankie fisherman’s – member of the Organizing Committee.
During the presentation of this Congress, the President of the Organizing Committee invited civil and military nurses with the presentation of communications in format Oral and Poster, whose submission deadline is September 7.
This Conference was attended by over one hundred health professionals of different Catalan hospitals interested in the theme of the papers.
8 Th National Congress of nursing of the defence
From 17 to 19 October the 8th National Congress of nursing of the defence, organized by the Ministry of defence – Undersecretary of Defense, General Inspectorate of health will be held in Toledo. Directorate of army health.
Our future … this today ” is the motto of this scientific meeting which includes seven round tables, two workshops, four lectures and the defence of Oral and Poster communications.
This Congress has been accredited by the Commission of continuing formation of the sanitary Board professions of Castilla La Mancha with 3.4 credits.
The Conference program is developed on the basis of five thematic areas, plus a free: 1. logistic operations, focused on the protocols of UCOs, UME and international operations; 2 Emergencies and disasters. Evacuation and relocation of wounded; 3. Registration and follow-up care; 4. Labour and 5 risks. Recent advances in technologies applied to health care. Beside them, there is a 6 area. Free, which is intended to accommodate experiences and jobs that do not conform to the above areas, but that its general interest, is convenient for public exhibition.
