The new MRI allows the patient fits, relaxed, in his armchair and does not have to enter the machine’s entire body. Despite outlined comfort, the new open MRI is capable of accessing very small fields of view with very high resolution, giving reliability to the diagnostic imaging. Among other applications, this avant-garde system also reduces the feeling of claustrophobia of the patient.

A complete technological renovation marks the transfer of RM Bilbao installations, located up on 22 September in Hospital San Francisco Javier, to its current address in calle Licenciado Poza No. 10. Since its foundation in 1987, RMB has made more than 200,000 MRIs in Bizkaia, figure that the company becomes a focal point in all of the historical territory.

Beyond of the incorporation of this cutting-edge technology, the magnetic resonance applications in recent times have been expanded significantly its field of activity. For example, the possibility of obtaining 3D sequences to assess complete anatomies (without the possibility of obviating any structure).

Thanks to these new techniques of diseases such as the Alzheimer study or studies of tractography (which allows to evaluate the impact of injuries to the brain and Medulla on the paths of interconnection of the different neural areas among themselves) is possible. The possibility of a whole-body resonance, suitable for the diagnosis of myeloma, metastasis or lymphomas, among others, as well as conducting abdominal vascular tests without contrast, are some of the leading-edge applications offered in new facilities.

The new center of RM Bilbao located on calle Licenciado Poza has thus two new teams of high field, one of traditional configuration with the most advanced techniques, and the new Optima 430s of GE Healthcare for the study of limbs.
