The Group Flisa joins the global compact Spanish network.

Madrid, March 2012.- El group Flisa has signed its accession to the Global compact Spanish network , and adds to the more than 1,500 companies and institutions that have already done so.

The Global Compact is an international initiative launched by the United Nations. Its objective is to achieve a voluntary commitment of signatory institutions in social responsibility, through the implantation of ‘ ten principles ’ based on human rights, labour standards, the environment and anti-corruption.

Membership is for the Flisa group to publicly demonstrate compliance with practices carried out since its Foundation: generation of quality employment for disabled persons, technological innovation aimed at caring for the environment.

From this moment, societies of the Flisa group become part of an important set of stakeholders that have also opted for this initiative: companies, NGOs, trade unions, academic institutions, and social agencies.

Activities organized by the global compact Spanish network allow the exchange of experiences and practices that foster the participation and involvement of companies and other entities in the idea of a significant change in the society.

Flisa is the network of industrial laundries and rental of textiles created in 1990 by the Fundosa group, the society promoted by Fundación ONCE for the creation of stable employment and quality for people with disabilities.

Flisa laundries are sheltered in those who work more than 3,000 workers, of whom more than 87 percent are people with disabilities. Currently, Flisa has 31 own industrial laundries and provides nationwide coverage. Each year these centres processed over 150 million kilograms of clothing in its facilities and the magnitude of this project has been possible thanks to a financial effort, over 150 million euros of investment.
