Madrid, December 2009.- for the first time in history, the Kings Magi cavalcade of Madrid will feature a float with children with Down syndrome, from which they receive and will greet Melchor, Gaspar and Baltasar, as well as all children and adults to see the parade.
This initiative, developed by the syndrome Madrid Down Foundation (FSDM) and sponsored by the Fundación MAPFRE is intended to include in the cabalgata de Reyes, an event of unique importance in the child world, children with disabilities.
The float is shaped in a ‘ paper boat ’ loaded with gifts, that in this occasion represent children with Down syndrome, from all places and races of the world.

Children with Down Syndrome will be accompanied in the carriage by young people with other disabilities that will encourage the passage with dance of capoeira.
Packed with gifts
With this boat loaded with gifts, as symbolize children, want to answer a question that underlies the collective subconscious with every birth of a child with Down syndrome or any other disability: ‘ is going to be a burden? ’ ”, said the President of the FSDM.
