The foundation of Health Sciences launches an innovative tutoring program in bioethics.

Madrid, March of 2013- just put up the first continuing education program updates in bioethics ”, consisting of the tutoring of all those health professionals who carry out activities related to this matter in their respective centres and institutions ”explains the Professor Diego Gracia, President of the foundation of health sciences and coordinator of the activity. The ultimate goal of this training program is the supervision of the practice carried out by each participant, at the same time that update knowledge ”. In this context, the sessions are organized in the form of small seminars whose central themes are previously selected by the attendees themselves.

We are witnessing a profound political and institutional changes that affect both education and health, but it is not clear that they are still positive in all cases ”, says the expert. In the specific case of bioethics, health authorities should promote and evaluate the quality of educational programs and consulting to improve practice in our country ”, adds. This program of continuous training, which consists of four sessions in 2013, the foundation of Health Sciences aims to help health professionals who have responsibilities in this area, contrasting his daily practice with an external consultant ”.

This initiative is part of the new portfolio of formation of the Foundation Science of health, which has restructured its courses in three levels: assessment and tutoring – which includes the program updates in bioethics ”-, advanced and Basic. Also, just launched a new format of the traditional training of trainers course bioethics 4 x 4 ”, which will be held in the month of September, and other basic training, which will take place in June. All this ambitious educational project seeks to cover those areas of knowledge that are not fully covered in the undergraduate and graduate, but are widely demanded by health professionals ”, concluded the professor.
