The heritability of varicose veins is 97%; most heritable disease known.
Spain, 2011-October into the new products presented in the meeting of the chapter European of the International Union of Phlebology (IPU), which was held in Prague from 15 to 17 September, highlights the presentation of the results of a multidisciplinary study of the genetic of chronic venous insufficiency (varicose veins) and their involvement basis in the thromboembolic disease. The results indicate that varicose veins are the most heritable disease known as a percentage of 97%, as reported by Dr. José Román Escudero, Director of the service of Angiology, Vascular Surgery and Endovascular, one of the doctors responsible for the study.
