The Hospital del Sureste delivered to their patients the informative health bill

Madrid, 2011-January the Hospital del Sureste, belonging to the community of Madrid, already awarded to surgical patients in the unit of surgery most ambulatory (CMA) informative health bill, a document to publicize citizens the cost posed health benefits to receive.

Nurses deliver the invoice together with the documents in the folder of the discharge and a letter of explanation of the management direction of the hospital. In the CMA served surgical patients whose condition requires no login.

The Hospital del Sureste began to deliver informative health bill on 18 January and more than 30 invoices briefings, noting a very favourable response both citizens and professionals have been delivered during these early days.

The price shown on the invoice includes the costs of equipment, operating room, human resources, medication for the procedure that has required the patient, etc.

No cost to the citizen

The main objective of this measure is to inform users the cost posed health benefits who receive and always cover through taxes paid by all citizens. Therefore, document shows clearly that it is an informative invoice and in any case involved the payment of any amount for health services provided.

This project of the Ministry of health of the community of Madrid is intended to promote a rational and responsible use of the health system, by raising the citizen of the cost and improving the information on public services. In a second phase, the hospital will expand the delivery of the invoice hospitalization and emergency room patients.
