Madrid, February 2012.- the Minister of health of the community of Madrid, Javier Fernández-Lasquetty, went to the University Hospital of Getafe to witness the surrender of the label 500 +, known as gold seal ”, awarded by the European excellence in Club Management to this health centre.

The accreditation seal 500 +, which does not have any other public hospital in the country, is achieved after being subjected to an external audit which assesses eight fields of action: people, partnerships and resources, results in people, users in society, leadership, policy and strategy and key results. This tool allows an in-depth analysis of the organization in order to meet strengths and weaknesses, enhancing and improving those areas which, after appropriate prioritization, dealt with.

This type of audit requires to systematize and make a constant monitoring of the plan of work envisaged in pursuit of excellence. This certification confirms the interest of all those who work here to improve the health of patients and confirms the permanent commitment to continuous improvement; Furthermore recognizes the daily work of all professionals of the Hospital of Getafe ”, said the Health Minister.

From now on, the Hospital is facing the challenge of maintaining and improving this proven level of quality ”, concluded Fernández-Lasquetty.

The priority, the patient’s health

The University Hospital of Getafe this certification process began more than two years ago and became the first hospital of its size and complexity get the 400 label. The hospital also has an emblematic burn unit accredited by the Interterritorial Council as national reference center and is currently engaged in more than 35 national and international research projects, as well as providing teaching I pre-90 medical students and form each year to 190 residents.
