Spain, February 2013.- El Hospital de Guadarrama has been winner of the OMARS Prize to the best environmental Idea in the health sector, recently awarded by the Observatory for environment and Social responsibility in the health sector within the framework of the sixth national symposium of environmental management in health centres, held in A Coruña.
The Observatory of environmental and Social responsibility in the health field (OMARS), through the Foundation for biomedical research of Andalusia (FIBAO) and under the direct patronage of Mölnlycke Health Care convened the III Edition of the awards OMARS destined to promote best practices for environmentalSustainable development and Social responsibility within the health sector.
seventeen nominations submitted by hospitals in all the national territory, selected four finalists, among which was the Guadarrama Eco-Hospital project, presented by the Environment Committee and defended by Raquel Blasco Moreno, responsible for environment of the Hospital de Guadarrama, finally resulting winner of the first prize along with the Virgen Rocio Hospital in Seville.
Project ECO-Hospital Guadarrama is basically a project awareness and influence on the mentality and the attitude of the people inhabiting the Guadarramas Hospital, so the preservation of the environment is always present in the acts that are carried out daily. Responsible for its dissemination is the Environment Committee, of which he is President Director of the hospital, Carmen Ferrer Arnedo.
