The Institut de Recerca biomedical manages to ease of administration and maximum functionality in the hands of NetApp and Satec storage.

Madrid, February 2012.- El Institut de Recerca biomedical (IRB Barcelona), centre dedicated to basic and applied life science research, created by the Generalitat de Catalunya in 2005, has undertaken an ambitious project of storage from the hand of Satec.

Considered this aspect of it as one of the most important centres of research in the life sciences because of the large amount of data generated, IRB Barcelona implemented, following the guidelines of the institution five years ago were marked in the design of the IT – infrastructure flexibility, efficiency, consolidation and cost savings-, a storage system to properly store data and perform backup copies to ensure their integrity, maintain scientific knowledge within the Organization and facilitate collaboration between its members ”, says Francisco Lozano, responsible for service of technology of the information of the IRB Barcelona.

With this decision, IRB Barcelona has achieved a storage infrastructure that needs very few resources of administration.
