the Madrid College of dentists (COEM) signs an agreement with the Ministry of health to channel complaints of patients.

-this agreement increases control of complaints from patients, which will help improve the quality of care

-one of the main objectives of the CÓEM is the professional excellence and ensure the population oral health

-El COEM has in addition an agreement of 2004 to harmonize guidelines on authorization of health centres and professional intrusion

Madrid, March of 2013- the College of dentists and stomatologists of Madrid (COEM) has signed a collaboration agreement with the Ministry of health of the community of Madrid aimed at improving the channelling of suggestions, complaints and claims of citizens on health services related to odonto-Stomatology which are carried out in private of the community of Madrid. This agreement will increase control of claims that patients, which will help improve the quality of care.

The signing took place last Wednesday in CÓEM by its President, Ramón Soto-Yarritu, headquarters and the Director of health of the community of Madrid Javier Fernández-Fuenlabrada.

With this agreement the CÓEM will provide technical advice on claims of special complexity on ethical and deontological issues of public health centres which provide odonto-stomatological services in the community of Madrid.

The Ministry of health, meanwhile, asked advice to COEM in necessary cases affecting public schools and intermediará in conflicts arising from citizens about the care in private facilities.

Convention on authorization of health centres and professional intrusion

The COEM has signed with the Ministry of health also an addendum to the agreement signed in 2004 which lays down guidelines harmonized in terms of authorizing professional centers and professional intrusion. This agreement seeks to coordination e

involvement of both institutions to secure dental centers to renew its operating license, as a way to protect patients and achieve quality oral care.
