The new surgical area of the Ubarmin clinic, which includes eight new operating theatres, a new intensive care unit and a room of awakening, will be operational in the last quarter of this year.
Renovation completed a few months ago, and in coming days, the procedure for the award of its equipment be public.

the cost of the work has meant an investment by the Government of Navarre, of 9.388.490 euros, in the absence of 2.885.000 euros for their equipment.
The new operating area is distributed in two floors: the first hosts the service of major outpatient surgery and has independent access, area preparation, two operating rooms, specific awakening room and area of adaptation to the environment, so that the surgical outpatient care, by not requiring hospital admission, not intergender circuit of hospitalization. This plant has a useful area of 1,470 square metres.
The second floor, with a surface area of 1,463 square meters, will host all the surgical activity that requires hospitalization. There are six operating rooms equipped with the technology required for surgical interventions of orthopaedic surgery clinic performs today; room awakening and intensive care unit, with twelve beds in each one, doubling the number of beds available today; and a new central of sterilization, as well as all necessary dependencies to work properly.
The total floorspace of the operating area is 2.933 m2 and the floorspace of the totality of the intervention of 3,610 m2.
To undertake the works had to be to run a range of previous work that freed the new operating site, formerly occupied by various units and services. It has taken also reorganize the access and execute works of modernization of facilities and adaptation of the building to the new regulations.
Previous work
early work began in 2000 and the complete refurbishment has been completed in the year 2011. Phases of work prior to the execution of the surgical area have been the remodelling of the plant 6th and hospitalization of plants 3rd, 4th and 5th, the pier for accessing the store, reform of the third floor, transfer and provisional UVI conditioning, emergency ladder and the new road and new access to ambulances. The total cost of these works amounted to 2.521.427 euros.
Care center in 2011 activity
Last year were in the Ubarmin clinic a total of 4,876 surgical interventions for trauma, of which 3.999 were with income.
Data of hospitalization of the centre point there 5.270 income in traumatology (4.398) and intensive care medicine (872) in a total of 48 beds, of which 3.510 were scheduled. Stays that year totalled 14.453.
With regard to consultations, the clinic attended 82.823 consultations 4.419 and ordinary extraordinary (81.546 ordinary and extraordinary 10.160 in 2010). Cases of trauma were the most numerous: 54.303 ordinary and extraordinary 2.098, followed by rehabilitation (11.547 consultations 849 and ordinary extraordinary).
