Panama, 20 mar ( EFE).-the Government of Panama today officially announced that 1.3 million quintals of rice, will it matter to detect that the national production is not enough to meet the demand in the coming months.

The supply of rice for domestic consumption of Panama is guaranteed until next July with existing stocks of 2.7 million quintals in shell and clean and dry cellars, according to data from the authority of protection to consumers and competition (Acodeco) published by the local press.
Defined as the main foodstuff of the Panamanians, the rice will be imported will be divided into 650,000 tonnes in shell and the same amount pilado.
