The Socialist parliamentary group has tabled a motion as a result of interpellation urgent in the Congress of deputies by asking the Government to put in place in the national system of health (SNS) a price system selected drugs, a way of saving in pharmaceutical expenditure appearing reflected in the amendments to the law of the drug which was adopted by the previous Executive in August 2011.

The initiative, to be debated in the plenary session of the lower house next Tuesday, occurs once at the last meeting of control the Socialist spokesman on health, José Martínez Olmos, claim to the Minister of industry, Ana Mato, the extension to the SNS of the auction system of medicines that has driven Andalusia, similar to what is now proposed the Socialist Group.

On this occasion, the PSOE requests Mato to develop a new system of prices than its predecessor in Office Leire Pajin – which had as Secretary general to the own Martínez Olmos – introduced in the law on guarantees and rational use of medicines and health products last August by Royal Decree law.

The objective of such a system, then explained the Ministry was able to “select better those medicines which will be funded by public health based on scientific evidence and the real benefits that contribute to the health of citizens”.

Groups present in system medicines would be excluded from the current system of reference prices and laboratories manufacturers of those finally selected medications – “respecting the principles of free competition and transparency” – should “ensure their adequate supply through explicit statement to the effect”.

Also, such a system of selected price established that submissions that were not selected would be “temporarily excluded” pharmaceutical delivery from the SNS “during the period in which the system of selected price keep existing”.

After the adoption of the standard which introduced this new price system selected, the President of the Council Andalusian of colleges of pharmacists (CACOF), Manuel Arenas, told Europa Press that this measure is “very similar” to the auction Andalusian as “laboratories that eliminatory will give the lowest price and remaining outside the selection will also be outside financing”.
