Spain, November of 2011- the average sick leave days lost to Spain common contingencies stands at 33,57 days, according to data published by the addition of mutual’s work and professional diseases of the Social Security (MATEPSS), in data accumulated up to the month of August. This amount represents a decrease of 5.9% in the number of casualties recorded in the past year and is a quantity 3.03 per cent higher than the number of casualties recorded by accident at work or occupational disease.

On the other hand, the processes initiated during this period average stands at 231.639, which is a figure 4.4 times greater than the number of casualties recorded by professional contingencies.

Women are of low 36,01 days a year for joint contingency, while men do 31,15. On the contrary, men suffer more from job losses for contingency professional, being away from work an average of 32,72 days, while women do 32.23.
