José Luis GarcÃa Sabrido surgeon offers a keynote session on sarcomas in the Provincial Hospital.
Center Foundation has organized this Conference to move forward toward excellence in cancer treatment.
Castellón, March of 2013. Thirty specialists in surgery, medical oncology and radiotherapy last Friday in the Provincial Hospital of Castellón has attended a masterclass session on surgery in soft tissue sarcomas by doctor José Luis GarcÃa Sabrido, Chief of the Department of surgery of the Hospital Gregorio Marañón.
Doctor GarcÃa Sabrido, known for having treated public figures of great importance, is one of the greatest national specialists in the surgical treatment of this type of pathology.
In his speech has placed emphasis on remember that tumors are not too frequent, since they represent between a 1 and 2 per cent of malignant carcinomas. However, are highly harmful ”.
During the paper expert has dealt with the different types of sarcomas in soft tissues, although he has focused mainly on the retroperitoneal, i.e. those tumors located in the muscle, fat or tissue connective tissue of the peritoneal cavity.

These sarcomas, applying advanced techniques which dealt with doctor GarcÃa Sabrido, currently get a patient survival of 51 percent five years have been tapped and of 36 percent to the ten years of the extractive operation.
This type of pathologies are really complicated in its treatment, since they need a multidisciplinary team of medical specialists in surgery, medical oncology and ratioterapica, among others, that must work together to improve the survival of the patient.

This work session has completed the training programme promoted by the Provincial Hospital Foundation and the Faculty of Sciences of the health of the CEU Cardenal Herrera University aimed at dealing with the latest advances in the treatment of colon cancer relapse and rectum in order to continue the excellence in cancer treatment.
