Paris, 4 Dec (EFE).-the 25 Edition of the French of 30 hours television Marathon known as “Teletón” managed to raise 86.119.425 euros against myopathy, a figure which increased to the 84.076.371 euros accumulated year past.
The television show, which kicked off on Friday at 1845 French time, spread in the six public broadcasters of France Télévisions and ended last night, it will deliver the money to the French Association against myopathy (AFM).
The President of that Association, Christian Cottet, celebrated the rise of the collection as a “superb result” especially at a time in which the French “are facing financial difficulties” arising from the crisis economic.
Although the television broadcast has been completed, until next Friday can make donations through the website of the AFM, dedicated to fight against 7,000 rare diseases, of which 80 percent are genetic in origin and affecting about three million people in France.
The Teletón is a charitable initiative that is not pleasing to all. “Two years ago, the influential billionaire Pierre Bergé, sentimental sideline of the Couturier Yves Saint Laurent, assured that this initiative parasitizes the generosity of the French in a populist manner” and “exhibits the misfortune of children”.
