La UPV/EHU launches the first laboratory practices for quality training in physiotherapy.

Bilbao, February 2012.- the implementation of the Bachelor’s degree in physiotherapy, acquired the country Basque/Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea University committed to providing the best training of future physiotherapists. Currently graduate at physiotherapy degree occurs as one of the most in demand in the Spanish University and academic offerings of the UPV/EHU. Today, the process of training of physiotherapists is aimed to form a graduate possessing competencies to enable it to act as a professional highly qualified physical therapy.
Therefore the UPV/EHU has recently acquired high-end equipment to provide the first projected eight laboratory for teaching practices. It’s devices of valuation isokinetic of progress, analytical muscle training, vibration platforms, systems of valuation of balance, force, goniómetros, inclinómetros, algómetros, etc. Teams of first level, where the computer and digital technology exceed already classic analog signal devices.
The aim is not another form in excellence to our future professionals, thus the integration guidelines established by the Campus of excellence of the UPV/EHU, and health policies of the current Department of health of the Basque Government.
The implantation and development of studies degree in physiotherapy in the Basque country, will lead, in the medium term, to raise the level of excellence of physiotherapy in the Basque country.
Responding from the University institution, offering a level of high-quality training to meet the necessary professional skills to overcome the competition of the access to the labour market of our graduates is a priority of the UPV/EHU.
The graduate in physical therapy by the University of the country Basque/Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea will be trained and shall have jurisdiction for the practice of physical therapy and accessing a subsequent clinical and research postgraduada training of quality.
Future professionals who obtain a degree in physiotherapy at the UPV/EHU will be able to plan, carry out and indicate activities aimed at the promotion, maintenance and recovery of health in occupational areas related to physical therapy, in a world with multiple cultural, social and linguistic influences.
With this aim, the University of the Basque country / Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea, and with the support of the Ministry of education of the Basque Government will remain online to ensure the funds needed to maintain the financing of a physiotherapy degree is intended to be reference throughout the State and will be more demanded before the ageing of the population and that it engarza with one of the strategic aspects of the Euskampus.
