Montevideo, 2 sep (EFE).-the Uruguayan justice investigates the case of a 15 month-old girl was taken to a sanatorium for a mild injury and shortly thereafter entered into comatose state after receiving a wrong medication today pointed out sources judicial.
The case occurred in a sanatorium deprived the city of Maldonado, 150 km to the East of Montevideo.
The girl, who has been an improvement in their condition, was received last weekend in the emergency area of the hospital with a slight after being bitten by a dog, wound but was mistakenly administered hypertonic serum and its State worsened to the point of going into coma.
The World Health Organization (who), through the Global Alliance for patient safety, requested in 2004 to remove from circulation the serum hypertonic.
Authorities of the health centre said that since 2006 the institution ceased to buy that kind of serum and do not explain how he reached the institution’s emergency room
La justice continues with research and called for State authorities, health personnel and staff of the sanatorium. EFE
