Union of mutual reports on the new social protection of employees home.
the official State Gazette published the Royal Decree establishing the protection for contingencies professional workers included in the scheme special of Security Social.

Spain, January 2012- the decree entered into force yesterday. As reported by Union of mutual companies, self-employed and mutual partners, the normative text equates the benefits of Social security which are domestic workers with the rest of the workers of the General regime.
Since January, the workers of the special scheme for domestic employees, will be to have covered the work accident and occupational disease, in the same terms as the workers of the General regime.
This means, as reported by the mutual, these domestic workers will have the same benefits as self-employed workers, and as in the rest of the Social Security benefits, is necessary condition for its recognition, which comply with the obligations of membership, alta and quotation.
These obligations will fall on the owner of the family home when you have employees at your service in an exclusive and permanent manner. In other cases, obliged to contribute, both for common contingencies professional contingencies, will correspond exclusively to the worker.
When the owner of the family home has failed to comply with the obligations of membership, signup or rate of the employee’s home, the economic benefits will be recognized, but responsibilities shall be required to the owner of the family home as well as those sanctions arising.
Also, the mutual has reported that the holders of the family home, at the time of the entry into force of the Decree, with employees of home in alta, or own discontinuous nature employees who are discharged, shall choose the managing body or mutual that formalize the coverage of occupational contingencies within 30 working days from of the entry into force, i.e. from yesterday.
