Port-au-Prince, 18 feb (EFE).-A military ship United States docked at Cap-Haïtien (North of Haiti) to carry out a humanitarian mission of three weeks which includes the donation of medical and educational materials by some four million dollars, said the Embassy in Port-au-Prince today.
The Swift HSV-2 is part of a mission of the command South of the United States ending in Haiti a tour that included Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Peru and Panama.
The diplomatic Communique stressed that 90 members of the ship will be tasks of construction, health, security and port operations which include the repair of a school and a rural clinic for the benefit of the 14,000 inhabitants of the community of Caracol, in the southeast of Cap-Haïtien.
The crew of the ship will also work in the training of members of the national police and will discuss with experts from the Haitian Ministry of health on public and veterinary care.
In addition, the American military delivered educational materials to several non-governmental organizations of Mirebalais (Center) and Cap-Haïtien, as part of a program that runs the United States Navy.UU. designed to raise charitable donations from the private sector in that country and deliver them to needy foreign communities.
The visit of the ship is part of the ongoing commitment of the United States with Haiti and responds to the priorities in the areas of health and safety, said the information, said the priority for the development of Haiti of the city of Cap-Haïtien where the snail Industrial Park expected to create at least 20,000 jobs is built on.
