USP Institut Universitari Dexeus maxillofacial surgery offers a course of complementary procedures in implantology.

Barcelona, October 2010.- the service of maxillofacial surgery of USP Institut Universitari Dexeus next 26 and 27 November offers a course teóricopráctico on surgical strategies for the reconstruction of tissue hard and soft.

The training is intended for dentists and implantólogos possessing a basic level in implantology and who wish to incorporate new procedures into your daily practice involving a higher quality of their treatment.

The course starts today on November 26, with 8 presentations given by surgeons of wide experience which will be in a way fundamentally practical various surgical techniques, such as the regeneration through membranes, the reconstruction of soft and hard tissue to obtain aesthetics in implants or modeling and formation of buds by Prosthodontics.

The course will be completed Saturday, 27 November, with a practical session on animals. During this second part of the training shall be transmitted the keys of the surgical techniques that assistants incorporate their treatment procedures as regeneration guided through membranes (GER), making soft tissue grafts and its use in implantology, tunnelling grafts to treat gingival recessions and the elevation of the maxillary sinus.

All sessions will be held at the headquarters of the Professional Association of dentists and stomatologists of Catalunya (COEC).

Speakers and themes

Dr. Antoni Arcas, responsible for the service of maxillofacial surgery of USP Institut Universitari Dexeus and Director of the course, will be in charge of open sessions, as well as provide their view on the reconstruction of soft and hard tissue for obtaining of aesthetic in implant ”.

Dr.Federico Margitic, Master in Periodontology at the University of Barcelona, will speak about indications of grafts of soft tissues in implantology. Then, Dr. Enric Ariza, Oral Surgeon and maxillofacial and head of the ENERESI clinic, will consider agenda item the importance of the second phase to obtain papillae ”.

The doctors Gerard Vendrell and Manel Gorina, Member of the USP Institut Universitari Dexeus maxillofacial surgery service, focus its exhibition on the basic principles and directions of regeneration through membranes.

To complete the first part of the course, the presentations will be given extrusion orthodontic for placement of implants ”, directed by Dr. Fernando de la Iglesia (master’s degree in orthodontics by Universtitat Internacional de Catalunya) and modeling and formation of Prosthodontics with papillae ”, led by Dr. Francisco Enrile (specialist in Stomatology and Periodontics Master).

In the afternoon session, Dr. Ion Zabalegui, specialist in dentistry from the University of the Basque country, will consider agenda item alveolar reconstruction: preservation, preparation, reconstruction of soft tissue and bone reconstruction ”.

After this first day, the course will be completed on the morning of Saturday, 27 November. In this second part attendees may be practices on techniques of roll-on, tunnelling in soft tissues, buds regeneration, obtaining of soft tissue grafting and bone regeneration through membranes.
